As an Admin, there are times where you may need to log into a User account within your office, to act on their behalf. For example, you may need to upload CSV contacts for them.
There are two ways for an Admin to switch to a User account to "impersonate", or act on their behalf:
Switch accounts through the user information toggle
From the side navigation menu, select your user information (1), found at the bottom left of screen.
This will open your Impersonation options. While working in your own account, you'll see that you are "Not currently impersonating". This will be followed by a list of Users that you are able to act on behalf of.
To switch into someone else's account:
- Select them from the list of available users (using the Search option to find them if you prefer).
- Select Switch Accounts.
You'll then be taken to the chosen users Dashboard, and see a banner at the top of screen, showing who you are currently acting on behalf of (2).
Switch to act on behalf of someone else
If you are already impersonating someone, but want to act on another users behalf, select the user switcher (1) again, or select the user name within the impersonation banner (2), to re-open the impersonation options. Then:
- Select a different user.
- Select Switch Accounts.
You will then go to the Dashboard of the chosen user, and the impersonation banner will update to show who you are now acting on behalf of.
Return to your own account
To return to your own account when you are impersonating someone, select the user switcher (1), or select the user name within the impersonation banner (2), to re-open the impersonation options. Then:
- Deselect the user you are currently impersonating.
- Select Switch Accounts.
The impersonation banner will be removed, to indicate you are now working in your own account.
Switch accounts through the Users menu
Admins can also switch to a User account through the Users menu.
Once here:
- Select the more icon to the right of the User's name.
- Select Log In.
