Using a campaign condition is a way of reconfirming, especially over time, that you are sending your content to contacts that will find it relevant and timely. The "If tagged" condition filters to send to contacts that have, or do not have, a selected tag.
"Has tag" example use
A "Loans" drip email campaign is set up, using the Tag changed trigger, set to Loan Lead - Added (1).
Contact "Joe" has the Loan Lead tag added to his contact profile, and receives the first "Loans" campaign email. The campaign has a 3 week delay before the next email is sent, but it also has a Condition of If Tagged, set to Has Tag - Loan Lead (2), to ensure that the next email is still relevant to everyone it targets. If the Loan Lead tag is removed from Joe's profile before the second email is due to be sent, Joe drops out of this campaign flow and does not receive any more "Loan" campaign emails. *
* Tags may be added or removed manually; when synced with categories from your integrated CRM; or automatically based on intent.
"Does not have tag" example use
You have an upcoming event, and want to follow up with contacts who have not registered to attend. You've manually added a tag of "Registered" for contacts that have indicated they are coming.
After setting your Choose recipients and schedule:
- Add a new module, and select the condition of If tagged.
- Set the module to Does not have tag - Registered.
- Add a new module, and select Send Email.
- Select your follow up email, reminding contacts that they need to register for the event.
This will mean that you only follow up with contacts that need to be reminded, while not targeting contacts who have already responded (which could cause frustration and distrust).
