There may occasions where you want to update the tags used in an existing campaign. For example, if you have been provided with a pre-built campaign using a particular tag, but you want to use a different (perhaps similarly named) tag. You may want to update a tag used:

• Within campaign Recipients;
• As a campaign Trigger;
• Within campaign Conditions.

To do this, start by navigating to the Campaigns menu, and select the campaign you would like to update.
Once within the campaign editor:

• Go to the Choose recipients module (you don't need to pause the campaign if it is active).
• If recipients are set to Send to ALL contacts and you want to change this, switch the toggle to the off position.
• OR, if particular tags are selected and you want to remove them, delete the tag/s using the x that appears next to its name when you scroll over it.
• Within the Search for audiences or tag box, start typing in the tag you want to use, and select it from the list of dropdown matches (you can repeat this if you have multiple tags that you want to use);
• Or, select Browse to see all available Tags (and Audiences), and check the box, or boxes next to the tag/s you want to use.
• Select Save to update your changes.

Update a tag within a campaign trigger or condition

If the campaign is active (i.e.: has a status of Running or Scheduled), select Pause to be able to make changes to tags within the trigger or conditions. Then:

• Within the campaign, find the module relating to Tags, e.g.: the "Tag Changed" trigger, or the "If Tagged" condition.
• Within the Enter tag name box, start typing in the tag you want to update to, and select it from the list of dropdown matches. *
• Select Save to update your changes and keep your campaign paused or in draft, or select Save & Activate to set your campaign live.

* Only one tag can be nominated here. If you have multiple tags with similar names, e.g.: "Prospect" and "Prospects", consider merging them so that you can reach all relevant contacts with your campaign.
Also, if your campaign uses several tag conditions (after using delays), check and update the tag in all tag conditions, if preferred.
