The text styles that are available to you within the email editor are set at office level. They have been chosen based on:
- Fonts that are web-safe.
- Fonts that are consistent with your branding requirements.
Web-safe fonts
Not all fonts are supported by the majority of devices and operating systems that your contacts view your emails on. This means that you may create an email using a particular font, but when your contacts' receive your email, if that font isn't installed on their particular device or operating system, a back-up "web-safe" font will be displayed instead. Essentially, your email may not appear to your contacts the same way as you see when you save it.
For this reason, web-safe fonts (those that are pre-installed as default fonts on the majority of computers and devices, regardless of their operating system) are highly recommended, giving you the best chance of your emails being viewed as you intend them to be.
Example web-safe fonts: Arial (sans serif), Arial Black (sans serif), Tahoma (sans serif), Times New Roman (serif), Verdana (sans serif).
Brand requirements
Maintaining your brand integrity is essential to the recognition and trust of your brand. If too many different or inconsistent text styles are used, contacts may think your email has come from an unknown or untrustworthy source.
Your text styles are set at office level to help you follow your brand requirements.
Default and maximum text style options
By default, there are 5 text styles added for you within the email editor. The most common names and options for text styles are: *
- Header One (e.g.: Main headings)

You can have a maximum of 8 font style options within the editor. If you have less than the maximum and would like to add more, please:
- Gain approval from your brand first, if applicable;
- Consider if the new option/s you want are consistent with your brand guidelines, as well as web-safe;
- Contact ActivePipe Support, and we can assist you with adding more font styles.
* Your brand may have customised names for each option.
