When setting up to send SMS campaigns from your ActivePipe account, you can choose to send from your own number, an Alphanumeric Sender ID, or you can set up both options.
Sending from your own number
By choosing to send from your own number you can provide a more personal interaction, and receive replies from your contacts. You can also see pre-send reporting.
Possible use cases for sending from your own number may be:
- Anniversary messages, e.g: Birthdays.
- Calls-to-action that require a response.
- Appointment confirmations or reminders.
When this option is selected, your messages are sent in batches to give you time to reply to any contact responses.
It is important to note that your number must be verified before you can begin sending from it.
Sending from an Alphanumeric Sender ID
An Alphanumeric Sender ID combines both alphabetical and numerical characters, and allows you to send messages that promote valuable brand awareness and trust.
An Alphanumeric Sender ID must contain 3-11 characters, and contain only letters, numbers and spaces, e.g: 1800NEWTOWN
Contacts cannot respond to these messages and you must include an opt-out link, which is provided by ActivePipe.
Possible use cases for sending from an Alphanumeric Sender ID might be:
- Communications that reflect your company message, rather than that of an individual.
- Updates and alerts (that do not require a response).
It is important to note that your Alphanumeric Sender ID must be verified before you can begin sending from it.
