Whether your contacts are integrated with your CRM, or uploaded via CSV files, when a new contact is added to your account, the Welcome Campaign is triggered (Trigger: Subscription) *.
* It's important to note that the Welcome Campaign needs to be Scheduled prior to the new contacts being added, in order for the Welcome Email to be sent.
If your contacts are integrated with your CRM, the Welcome Email is automatically sent out whenever a new* contact is added. You don't need to do a thing!
* There are some common queries about what is classified as a "new" contact:
What happens if the contact record is created without an email, and the email is added later?
If a contact record is created without an email address, and you add the email at a later date, this will not trigger the welcome email, as the contact record already existed when you updated it. If you would like to welcome this contact, use the send an email to a single contact method.
What happens if a contact is moved from one agent to another within my brand?
If a contact is moved to a different user within the same contact integration ActivePipe will check if the contact (referencing their contact ID) has been sent any ActivePipe emails previously. If they have, the welcome will not be re-sent.
Contacts managed with CSV uploads
If you upload your contacts by CSV files, it's very simple to activate the Welcome Campaign to send to newly added contacts (any existing contacts included in the upload will not receive the email).
As part of the upload process, on the Review page, just tick the Trigger subscription events for new contacts box (1) before clicking the Finish Importing button.
The Welcome Campaign is not automatically set-up in all ActivePipe accounts.
