A placeholder is a variable which is used to personalise email campaigns.
If you put this placeholder into an email you could send that email to 1,000 contacts at once and it would still contain every contacts own first name.
This makes it look as though you have taken the time to send the email to each person.
Put a Placeholder in a Subject Line
To use placeholders in a subject line:
- In ActivePipe, open the Emails section.
- Create a new email or open a saved email.
- In the subject line type a message “hi, how are you “
- Then type in this text:
This is the placeholder that will turn into a contacts name when it lands in their inbox.
Why Hasn’t My Placeholder Worked?
It is very important that you copy the placeholder text exactly. Otherwise, it will not work.
After you send a preview email to yourself, when you recieve it you will notice that there is a blank space instead of a placeholder in the subject line.
This is because Send Preview feature uses an email address that you type into a textbox, instead of using contact info from your database.
